TacxTours 2013-14

Here we are – winter is dragging along without giving me any opportunity to do some skiing. The artificial snow that they used to prepare some basic rounds is turning into slush and cold/rainy weather makes running in the dark really unattractive. In this kind of situation I’m always happy that I invested in an indoor trainer a few years ago, which now allows me to cycle in my warm and dry apartment.

While I have used my trainer for some exercising here and there, I never used it to it’s full potential. Just recently I discovered that it not only has a multiplayer function, but also that there is a whole racing scene going on for these online challenges. Now I wouldn’t really call myself professional, but as I still like the additional motivation factor, I gave it a try and was positively surprised. Of course there is always some really fast person cycling away, but knowing that I’m competing against some real persons, keeps me pedaling until the end.

Races are organized at different time intervals, but normally 2-3 events are planned for a week. All the details about the races, jerseys (yes, we even compete for virtual jerseys), rules and ranking can all be found on the TacxTours website.
