After having done already a lot of running and some crosscountry skiing, I decided today to look for a swimming hall. After some google searches, I found the Helsinki city website, which also has a list of all the swimming halls in the area. There is even one dedicated for the naked swimmers ;-)
As it is practically on my way home, and easy reachable by public transport I chose the itäkeskusken uimahalli, which even has a 50m pool…
Big surprise was when I saw that the complete swimming hall is underground! Ok, I was told about that by Ilkka, but still… it’s very funny, if you are looking for a swimming hall and there is just an entrance going down into the ground. :-) According to the Helsinki city website, this swimming hall would even be used as a bunker in the case of a war.
After doing my usual getting-back-into-swimming-shape excercise, I am now happy that I can just relax and enjoy the evening at home :-)
