It has been a while since my trip to Joensuu – no wonder everybody keeps asking me about what’s going on here in Helsinki :-) Let me try to summarise the last three events:
University
Just after our weekend trip, we got a visit from the people at FGI. Having already giving a presentation about our project back in Joensuu, I was well prepared to give them an update about what we have planned to do the next few weeks.
Besides this visit, there was just a lot of preparation work going on, meaning producing a lot of different image versions, programming several tools and making a quick quality control over all the different files I produced.
Social life
Even though a lot of people keep telling me that I picked the wrong time to stay in Finland, December time has also it’s good sides. One of them are the different christmas parties (pikkojoulus), which always are a good opportunity to meet new people. After attending such an event in Joensuu (actually it was a christmas seminar ;-) ), I got invited to the christmas party of the surveying guild at the technical university. Had lots of fun there, and the next parties are just around the corner ;-)
