Hey,

My name is Felix Rohrbach, and I’m your average Geomatics Geek. After graduating from ETH Zürich with a degree in Geomatics Engineering and Planning, I stepped into aerial surveying and quickly realized how exciting the potential is when capturing our world.

I learned early on that collecting data is only the beginning. The real magic happens in the long chain of processing and analysis that follows. Seeing how people use geospatial information to solve problems, build tools, and understand the world still inspires me.

My career has taken me to projects across the globe. Each one brought new challenges, new ideas, and a better understanding of the technologies we rely on today. I enjoy helping people get the most out of their data, whether that means improving accuracy or finding creative ways to combine different sources.

This blog is my place to share how I see today’s (mostly geospatial) technology working in practice. I hope my experiences and thoughts are useful to others who are just as curious about this field as I am.

– Felix
